the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again

Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

Maya is incredible. I loved her.

I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?

i’d love to give reccs, and i’ll try to go a beginner friendly route! tbh you can pick up whatever here, but since you've read R:SOB i’d immediately follow up with Batman and Robin (2011) #1-8! this first arc is what’s referred to in Maya’s introduction, and it's just. so good.

Godfrey ends up taking the shard, along with Damian's body since it was emitting the same energy.

I think more people ought to accept the idea that mobility aids do not always look like they're specifically "for disabled people." An aid is, at the core, something that helps to empower disabled people to live more comfortably, more easily, more pain-less/pain-free, maintain quality of life, or anything else.

A disability aid might not be obvious to you. It might even seem silly to call some things "disability aids," but that doesn't change the fact that they are helping that person live more comfortably and freely. Not every disabled person will have aids that are "not standard," but for the disabled people who do have non-standard aids, we ought to treat them well and include them in spaces. We can accommodate a vast array of disabled people, and the effort to include them is worth the time it takes.

I'm currently working on an AU one-shot for @definitelynotshouting's amazing Hunger AU! It's been in the works for well over a month now since I've been fighting some really bad writer's block, but I wanted to post some snippets so I can prove that I've actually been working on this, lol. Big thank you to TJ (I hope I'm using your name right) for letting me putter around with this for so long. Here's some bits and bobs for proof of life.

“Sorry,” Grian breathed after who-knew-how-long, blinking a few times to further center himself and draw the beast close to his heart, where it usually sat. Safe and far away from anyone it would hurt. He looked over at Ren when the other man didn’t immediately respond, and— “What are you doing?” “Meditating,” Ren replied lightly, sitting with his legs crossed and his eyes closed. One sky-blue iris peeked out from underneath his eyelid, flashing him with relief-worry-affection before it was gone again, and taking the emotions with it. Grian stared at him. “Remarkable way to stop feeling things if you do it right. You good, man?” “Yeah, yeah.” He breathed, the embarrassment coming in a flush a moment later. His own emotions were roiling, bubbling up and down in a tremor. In the next moment he laughed, for some reason he couldn’t decipher. “Sorry about that.”

Ren had been calm and soothing when Grian had told him about the Watchers, about who he was. He hadn’t pushed for anything Grian didn’t want to tell him, and more often than not he waited for Grian to come to him with stories of his past. Tango, though. Well, Tango was a scientist. Not that science was a bad thing. It was just… for Grian, it was uncomfortable at times, like he was a caged songbird being shooed out into an open room for the first time, free to roam wherever he liked. Tango showed up whenever he liked, usually with a half hour’s notice, but sometimes not, with whatever question had passed his mind. A question that was super important, and had to be answered now, in a “what do you mean you’re trying to work on Sahara, I need answers!” sort of way.

I hope this is was a fun proof of concept! I usually don't post my snippets on Tumblr, so maybe I've done it all wrong... lol. But I'm having fun, and in the end I guess that's all that matters.

It looks like it's going to take a hot minute until ORKA returns for Season 3 and I think we're all kind of just... standing around? I think I've exhausted all analysis on Season 1 & 2 so far and I don't really want to force myself to make up content. I will still be posting random ASM memes and shitposts on my own time, but they will definitely not be as frequent as my earlier updates.

“oh fuck you, aaron. you always twist my words.” you turn away, exasperated. you continue to cook the dinner you were making for the three of you. aaron had just changed from his suit to a tshirt and sweatpants, after coming home early.

“oh, so i’m the bad guy now? for wanting you to be safe?” your boyfriend grabs your shoulder, and turns you back to him.

rolling your eyes, “you know that’s not what i meant.” you grit out. aaron sighs.

“i’m not following.” he leans back against the kitchen counter, you see his shoulders tense as he raises a hand to rub his temples.

“all i said was that i wanted to start working again! summer’s over, so jack is back in school, so there is no reason for me to stay at home and do nothing all day!” you throw your hands up in the air, exhausted.

aaron stays silent, arms crossed. he stares at you as you go back to cooking dinner. “my answer is still no.”

bright anger burns through your veins, “no?” your eyes widen, dinner abandoned, you turn back to your boyfriend.

“that is what i said.” aaron turns around to grab a water bottle from the fridge.

“why.” you keep your anger buried, wanting to know why exactly your boyfriend had suddenly started acting like a raging dick.

“because me and jack need you here.” aaron starts to chug his water bottle, ignoring you.

you feel your face heat up and tears well up in your eyes, raging, “aaron, i need to go back to work. i’m not some free babysitter for you, aaron. i took this summer off because you needed some extra help. that’s all. i’m your girlfriend, not your nanny or some maid! i literally cannot keep arguing with you about this.” your anger bubbles over and you feel tears stream down your face. you see aaron turn back to you, his face shows no sympathy.

“so what’re you going to do, huh? break up with me?” aaron scoffs. you don’t say anything, “no. no, no, no.” he starts to shake his head, laughing to himself, “i can’t talk to you when you’re being this overdramatic.” he starts to walk away.

you grab his arm, “I’M NOT BEING OVERDRAMATIC, AARON.” it felt like time slowed down when the pain came. you grab the handle of the fridge to catch yourself, as pain blossomed across your face. the room spun as you catch your breath. your ears ring as you squint and steady yourself.

“-NOT YELL AT ME IN MY OWN HOME. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME.” his face red, fury paints his face.

“what…” you mumble, clutching your face.

“you are jack’s mother. you are mine. you have no right to start yelling at me when all i’m doing is PROTECTING YOU.” you feel his hands grab you by the waist. he picks you up and places you on top of the kitchen counter, your ears won’t stop ringing. your vision clears as you feel something cold on your face. aaron’s face was kind once more, as you feel the ice pack resting against your burning face. you don’t respond. “i won’t let you get hurt. i won’t let what happened with hailey… happen again.” you nod.

“okay, i’m sorry.” you mumble, eyes wide, taking in everything at once.

“sorry for what.” he looks you in the eyes, expectantly.

“i’m sorry for asking to work, f-for wanting to b-break up,” you start to sob, heaving as you start understanding what happened. “i’m s-sorry for y-yelling at you. i’m sorry, i’m sorry, i’m-” aaron grabs you by your waist and pulls you into a hug, you bury your face into his shoulder.

“it’s okay, sweetheart, i know you just got a little confused.” he pulls away and cups your face, you wince. “i know you won’t pull anything like this again. you love me and you love jack, right?” he smiles and you see the man you love once more.

“right.” you sniffle.

a moment passes, “say it. say you love us. say you won’t leave.” you watch his face and see a shadow of the rage from before.

you feel your heart beating faster, “i love you and jack, and i promise, i will never ever leave.”

“good girl.” aaron smiles and pulls you into a kiss, you melt into the warmth of his love. gently pulling away, he rests his forehead against yours, “i won’t ever let you leave.”
